Recreation

Hiking

The long-term dream of many Ketchikan residents is to build trail from the end of the public road system, to connect Lake Harriet Hunt to Leask Lakes, branching out to George Inlet, USFS Naha LUD II, Wolf Lakes area, and Moser Bay.

Touring

Leask Lakes has been highlighted as an incredible recreation destination for hikers, hunters, fishermen, and wildlife viewers. The Lakes also provide excellent kayaking and canoeing opportunities.

Fishing and Hunting

The fishing and hunting community in Ketchikan is very much interested in keeping this area as prime habitat. Commercial, sports and subsistence users all have a vested interest in the Leask Lakes wildlife.

Roaded Access

Logging roads currently reach the Leask Lakes Conservation Easement area. No public access is permitted, but a public road route is planned. For more information, contact LUC.
